I'm getting a dell inspiron with an amd processor. and i know intel is better but i dont care about that. anywayz. i'll be using it for school work. surfing the internet. video streaming. and i'll download songs and stuff. so is 1.80ghz enough

I use a laptop that's 1.7GHz that's perfectly sufficient for doing just those things! As long as you have about 512MB of Ram or more, that will be perfect for looking at videos online, downloading music, writing papers, etc. As long as you don't get into the heavy-duty things such as editing movies or playing video games, this should be quite enough for what you need.

Actually, I think that AMD is better than Intel processors. But aside from that, 1.8Ghz is good for a laptop. Check to see if it has a dual-core processor, if so that is even better!

if it is a dual core processor, then it should be great, as there is 1.8 GHz for each processor,

then the processor could handle various tasks with one processor, and other tasks with the other

thats fine, but make sure u have at least 1gb of memory for vista. 2gb is best.
