Actually it isn't the brand of diaper that causes the rash, it's just that different brands aborb moisture differently and it's your responsibility to monitor your baby and check his diaper regularly to make sure if your baby is wet or not and when he is, change him right away.
It's because of this that I prefer cloth diaper an always have. True, they don't wick the moisture away like disposable diapers do but that's what makes them better.
The problem with disposables, when you use your fingers and check to see if the diaper is wet or not, the disposables have the tendancy to feel dry to the touch when they really aren't which means that a lot of the time, the diaper doesn't get changed when it should and your baby sits in a wet diaper and because of that, gets a diaper rash.
With cloth diapers, if it's wet, it feels wet and you change it. This keeps your baby from sitting for any length of time in a wet diaper and thus preventing diaper rash.
I'm incontinent and wear diapers 24 / 7 and I have worn both disposable and cloth diapers. In disposables, I've always gotte diaper rashes but in cloth diapers I have never gotten a diaper rash. Because of this, I always wear cloth diapers and the only time I will use disposables is when I'm traveling for work or an extended vacation where laundering cloth diapers isn't easy.
Take my word for it, cloth is the only way to go. I think every parent of a new baby should be made to wear diapers for 6 months before their baby is born. Three months in disposables and three months in cloth diapers and let them feel the difference. I would bet that the majority would decide on cloth diapers for their child if they did that. After all, it's the comfort of your baby that should come first, not your own convenience.
Good luck.

It can, there are different products used in different diapers. My daughter cannot wear anything buy Huggies. My son can wear pretty much any brand or off brand for that matter.
My daughter has a little bit more sensitive skin though.

i don't think its the material in the different brand that would cause the diaper rash, but the amount of wetness caused by the new brand. what kind of diapers were/ are you using now?

Yes, sometimes it can. Just for the simple fact that some of the store brand or cheaper diapers aren't as absorbent as some of the better brands (Pampers, Huggies...) and therefore your baby's skin is wet longer. Personally, I don't think it's because of what they are made of I think they are just not as good of quality.

It can!!! Different kids are sensitive to different things...I have one whos body is ultra sensitive to everythingand another that isnt at all! Also, alot of children are sensitive to wipes...and I know that have those for sensitive skin! With me son who had sensitive skin I found that the kirkland brand diaper from costco worked best!! Good Luck...

I never believed moms when they told me this happened to them, but honestly, every time I use ANYTHING but huggies supreme on my son he gets a rash. He actually got a yeast infection every time I used reagular huggies.. lol. It might have been coincidence, but it was enough to make me consider it.
I dont know if its just because the others dont breathe as well, or if he's allergic to them, or maybe they just dont wick moisture away like the supremes, but whatever it is, i dont change brands anymore.

It shouldn't. Diaper rash is from moisture being trapped.
