I need an actual gift for a 11 year old

See if your local mall has gift certificates that you can use throughout the whole mall. Otherwise money is always a safe bet =) Or just ask her parents.

It's hard to say. Depends on how their parents raised em, really.
My sheltered sister-in-law is 11, she'll be 12 in a month. She's into the Littlest Pet Shop and stuffed animals and she collects piggy banks.
On the other hand, there's also the 11 year olds who are way too influenced by pop culture and would rather have stuff like manicures and pedicures and highlights in thier hair and reavealing clothes and magazines.
So take your pick - which 11 year old is she?

If you don't know the girl very well, stick with something a little less "girly-girl". Not all girls are into that. Things like art supplies and craft kits are big hits with kids of both genders of that age group.
I would also ask their parents what sort of things she is interested in. You'll get some good ideas, and also give them a chance to tell you if there are any toys they object to her owning.

well it also depends on who you are to her..we dont know if you're her family, her mom, her friend, her best friend.?
but if you're family you could get her an engraved bracelet from thingsremembered.com or in the mall if you have one, or ask her mom for her size and get some clothes.
if you're just a friend then you should get her some jewelry [claires gift card], a gift card for her favorite store in the mall, a picture frame with a cute picture of you and her inside it..just small stuff like that.
