Ok I've got a preg riddle I just can't figure out. I am now 6 months prego and my fiance and I are trying to figure out the date of conception. My last full blown menstrual cyle was on Jan 3, 2007. On Feb 11 I had a 10-15 minute bleeding (which I thought was the beginning of my period) right after intercourse. I took a preg test on Feb 18 and it was -. I took another on Mar 11, realizing that I had missed another period, and it was +. Now having sonograms done, they have estimated I conceived on Feb 10th. My question is how did I ovulate at such a random time or was it an extremely short period on Feb 11 and conceived after? One nurse has said I prob conceived before and another has said to count it as my period. I have a pretty regular 28 - 30 day cycle with 4 day periods. I've considered that I may have missed my Jan ov. So when would I get my next? Same time as if i had my period or would it be thrown off a little, causing it to be the first week of Feb?

they said my lmp was Jan 27 and that i actually conceived on Feb 10. i know it's confusing

Maybe the blood on Feb 11th was from ovulation. Sometimes there will be a little blood from where the egg bursts through the follicile. That would mean you conceived within 24 hours of Feb 11th, and that lines up with the Feb 10th conception date that they are guessing. This would mean though, that you ovulated very very late if your last regular cycle was on Jan 3rd, but this can happen. Ovulation can be thrown off by a variety of things.

It was probably more likely around Feb 20 - 24th.
Not sure if this will help but if you conceive today and your last menstrual cycle was 2 weeks ago the doctor will consider you 2 weeks pregnant. They don't count it from the day you conceived but the time from your last cycle. So when they say your 6 months pregnanat you've actually been pregnant for 5 1/2 months (assuming that you ovulated about 2 weeks after the last period)

i would say you got pregnant anywhere from feb 14 to 19. you may have had sex on the 14th and actually concieved 3-5 days later. when you took the test it was still to early
