Why do I disagree? Because, as great as the Alstott run is, you mean to tell me its better than this one? Here is the video link:

the run occurs at 0:55. Count em, Sanders either breaks the tackles of or miraculously runs by all 11 Cowboy defenders. The one cowboy thought the play was over and couldn't believe barry was still running.

Peyton, Sanders, Dorsett, Jackson, Dickerson, Allen, Sayers, etc are all backs that have had runs that could be considered the best, but 49ers Quarterback Steve Young made a run for a touchdown that is by far the most heroic that I have ever seen. In a 1998 game vs. the Vikings, about to be sacked, Young took off out of the pocket and ran 49 yards for a touchdown to put the 49ers into the lead. A bit of speed, a few cutbacks, and a lot of heart were shown on that run. As a fan of the NFL for decades, that is going to be very hard to best.

Barry Sanders was the most amazing guy to watch when he had the football. He could make a move on a move and spin and juke all at the same time. Totally amazing runner. And fast too. Yeah, that run against the cowboys was something but he could do that against almost anyone or any team at anytime. I am not sure if that was the best run of all time because there has been some great ones. Jim Brown could bulldoze over people and Gale Sayers was a totally amazing runner who only played 68 games and was a hall of famer. So to say it was the greatest run of all time I am not sure but it could definately be considered an all time great run.

Yeah, i would have to agree, that is probably the best run i have ever seen... I would also like to point out last season when Maurice Jones-Drew ran into one of his Offensive Linemen Last season against New England, and Got up from the fall to run the ball back 76 yards for a touchdown. That was another pretty sweet run, Not as good as Barrys, Or Walters, But it was still a sweet run. The run i am talking about is at the end of this video, But just watch the whole thing, Maurice Jones-Drew is going into his second season and he already has a ton of great runs.

This is also a good video, shows some of his returns

That Barry Sanders run is really good, and so is the Last Walter Peyton one. The Tony Dorsett 99 yards run is probably on of the greatest.

My personally fav is the Mike Alstott run in 2002 against the browns in which he broke 9 tackles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa3QW1QBihw the run im talking about is at 1:05 in the clip.

On January 3, 1983, Dallas Cowboy's running back Tony Dorsett broke a 99-yard run against the Minnesota Vikings, which is the longest run from scrimmage in NFL history (even though the Cowboys had only 10 men on the field, not the required 11).

Watching that video brought to mind LaDainian Tomlinson. In the last year, LT has progressed to the point where he can do those lateral spin and juke moves that you only see on Madden NFL. I'm looking forward to seeing him every Sunday this year (except week 7) working his magic.

Of the runs on that video, the one by Sanders was probably the best. He looked like he got buried by 3 guys twice and still kept right on going. But, it's so hard to say who was the better RB of the two. Or Jim Brown, for that matter.

Guys like Sanders, Payton, Brown, and LT seem to come around once every decade or so. And, it's almost impossible to compare them. So, let's just sit back and enjoy them.

barry sanders is the best running back of all times. that waas one of the greatest runs ever. if barry would have left detroit and went to a team like washington to run behind the hogs he would have smashed every rushing record in book no doubt, and there would be a lot more highlights like the one above

Eric Crouch had a nice 99 yard run. And Reggie Bush's Run against Fresno State, were he cut back across the Field then scored was good.

the barry sanders run was awesome, but what about when Bo Jackson ran over Brian Bosworth in an 87' game between the Raiders and Seahawks.
