Metallica is amazing live. That is how they initially became popular without the help of music videos. They just toured relentlessly for years while promoting their first three albums. They have always been know for having a great live show.

Their last few albums have been horrible, but their shows make up for it.

I saw metallica twice live and they were awesome both times. They weren't high tech fancy. With bombs going off everywhere but just put on a great show with high energy. As far as better. Well I think a live show should be better. Otherwise I wouldnt want to pay that kind of money to go. They were worth it to me.

I saw them a few years ago live, And ive never been a big Metallica fan, i just went because Godsmack was there. But i really enjoyed their show, i would say they are definitely better live.

Yeah. They were good.
But that said they aren't as good since And Justice for All.
Black album was pretty good, but their old skool is so much better.
