To clarify my question, I understand why people are mad but what I don't understand is why people seem to want more justice for these animal than they do for people. I read the indictment and its horrible but why is it that Vick may get more time for killing dogs than some people do for killing other humans. To me with all the media coverage it seems that they are making a dogs life more valuable than a person. The last thing I have a question about it how much good does a person have to do to out weigh their bad? He has given to all sorts of charities including the VT charity, the Vick Football camps he puts on for kids, the Michael Vick foundation and many others so does this 1 thing make him a bad person.

I see your point... i guess it's because the victims are animals..Granted, harming dogs for sport is cruel....Our media and Country seem to have our priorities mixed up sometimes...

I am not a great fan of Michael Vick, but I do think that he should not be concluded to be guilty of this crime until more proof is presented in court to prove that he was aware of the situation. He has made a few mistakes in social etiquette and seems to be pretty rough around the edges, but these are not of the caliber to send him to prison.

It doesn't make sense to me either.

You can Kill this way but not this way, its BS. Killing is Killing.

Killing an animal should never be equated to killing a person.

Any killing of an animal other than by natural causes falls into a shade of gray. The Reason for the Killing is only a justification (a reason).

The Reason can be; for food, for sports, for financial reasons.
TO me if its your property its your business.

Until a dog can sue me in court or explain to me why his suffering is protected under the Constitution, government needs to allow people to treat their animals however they wish, as long as they don't hurt people.

I have no idea who Vick is.

I do not believe animal lives are generally treated as more valuable, but the story of a completely helpless being (a pet) being treated cruelly resonates as strongly as cruelty to children, elderly and other comparatively helpless (or perceived-to-be-helpless) persons/beings.
