It starts around 6:58PM and runs from there as long as I'm online....then reverts back when it is turned off. It's a Dell laptop running WindowsXP.

It does sound like your cmos battery is bad. I would reccomend buying a new one. If you don't know how to install one, I would have someone else put it in for you. I don't think they sell them at walmart, try going to a computer store.
The cmos battery is the battery that keeps your computer's time, date, and etc while the computer is off.

BIOS battery is probably flat, just take it to a local computer shop and get it replaced if you dont know how, its a simple job (assuming no warranty seals are broken), and does not cost much (price of a battery + 5mins labout!)

I think your Bios battery is running out. Replace it and it should be fine.
