My car broke down last May, I did not have any money to buy a new car on my own, my neihbor sold me a truck for 3k and took my broken car for $800. I didnt have the $2,200, so my moms BF(who thinks he has all the power in the world because he has money) waiting for me to come and ask for help, witch I have never done, because it gives him power over me, well anyways we have a written agreement, and I have been paying, he hurt my mom emotionally, so i gave him a piece of my mind, now he threatens to take the truck. Can he? He is the lein holder, but the title is in my name.

He can't take the truck if you have been making the promised payments. Make sure you are keeping records of every payment made.

He can only take it if you have violated the terms of your written agreement. Good for you to think ahead and put things down in writing.

God bless the written contract -- smart girl. Unless you break the terms of that agreement, he can't do anything to you, and if he tries, you can sue him.

He can't just take it because he feels like it. He can only take it if you refuse to pay him.
