I need to trace a Yahoo Email Adress to its Location to get a Phone Number?

I have the email adress I just need to find the persons Phone Number or adress that it came from because they scammed me out of a very important World of Warcraft account of mine that is the only way I can get my car this month

To answer your question about tracing emails. YES It is very possible to trace the source. However that isnt the problem, the problem is that while it may be possible it isnt very probable without the proper resources. I will post a link below which will provide alot of information such as how to go about tracing this scammer.

Im aware that WoW accounts are valuable so another way which may be easier is to call your local authorities. Ive seen many WoW accounts be sold for hundreds so you may be in luck if you can provide accounts details to prove it is legitally yours.

Another way would be to contact WoW, they recieve complaints by the thousands daily, but there is also that small chance that they will help you out.

You can try to see if they have their real name listed anywhere associated with their email address. Then cross reference the name with public phone records.

I don't think you will have much luck without the person's name and from experience searching for old schoolmates and friends, I haven't been able to find email addresses based on their names, maybe 1 or 2 of many.

If you have WOW account that's been compromised, why not contact the company and tell them and see if they can reset the password and account information. Change email addies or login names as well.

Hi Jordan,
If you happen to have an email address he sent you then you are in luck. If you don't then send him an email and see if he will reply to you. Then we use the info contained in the email to trace it to him.
If you use outlook express then with the email you are wanting to know about go to file then properties. from there click on details and then message source... Here is the meat and potatoes we are looking for... Yes there is a lot of extraneous information but do not let it daunt you... Start looking for and at all of the IP addresses in the source you can find... You will see yours, your email providers, his email providers and lastly his ip address. They will not necessarily be in that order but they are there... look at it and read it carefully.
I will send myself an email from yahoo to my home address and show you what it looks like...

And if you are using yahoo email then toward the bottom right you will see the link for full headers. Click on it and it shows you all the same info... I am posting a link to a pdf file showing the emai info I just talked about above. Notice in red bold letters my ip address that resolves to Jackson Ms.

Think about it.

One could access one's email from anywhere in the world...
