urgh... I`m not so good with info on Zagreb. i don`t like it it is far too crowded and loud for my taste.
What I remember is a nice cathedral, Ban Jelačić Square is very nice, I liked Museum Mimara and also MUO, Museum of Art and Crafts, they used to have a really cool exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci, maybe they still do, you could google it and find out.
The longest street is Ilica, and I also like Bogovićeva, there is a large multimedia centre Profil in there.
You can get areound by tram, that`s not so expensive.
You can go see Pantovčak and Banski Dvori (where the Presdident and the Prime Minister work).
And, it`s also really nice to walk around and go window shopping.
What I`d recommend is going to visit Samobor, a charming small town really close to Zagreb, that is famous for the cake - kremšnite.
Enjoy your stay!

Just the city itself is more interesting than any particular museum or church, of which they have plenty. The nightlife and sidewalk cafes and the interesting architecture are enough for me.
Try to stay in the "Gornji Grad" area near the streets
"Tkalciceva" and "Opatovina" Or check with Evistas, one block north and 3 blocks east of the main train station. They book private rooms and can get you in without walking all around looking for a room. .
Basically the 2 square kilometers just north of the train station "Glavni Kolovdor" is the center, and most interesting.
