But then fall silent about the Republicans refusing to participate in the Youtube debate? One is a biased media outlet. The other is questions asked by the American people.

The Youtube debate? The dumbest questions and biggest waste of time I have ever seen. Only the pandering Democrats would lower themselves to that ridiculous format.

Do you really believe what you're saying? Youtube fair? Those questions were hand picked by someone (bias) and directed to a particular candidate (bias) and were available for the candidates to work up their answers (open book test) and the questions had no follow ups (debate requirement in a forensics lab)
It did not qualify as a debate and don't try to make it otherwise.
However, Fox News is the most watched cable news network. More than CNN or MSNBC. If the democrats want to be the President of all the people then they need to get out and talk to conservatives. Unless they have something to hide....

First off, the Republican Youtube debate is scheduled for September, so your belief that Republicans are afraid to be asked questions by liberals, (even though the forum is a tad juvenile), is faulty.
Second, wasn't the 1st Republican debate hosted by ultra-left wing talk show host, Chris Mathews? Could you imagine Democrats agreeing to Shawn Hannity being the host of a Democratic debate? I think it's clear which party is trying to avoid tough questions.

YouTube is not a debate.
This joke is the manifestation of the mass media's incompetence.
They have surrendered. They know that in a long, drawn out campaign the lame questions they have been asking would soon be exhausted. They don't even ask questions. They are just veiled attempts at interjecting their own sensational opinions on basic issues for the sake of ratings.
It's intellectual dishonesty and CNN leads the way in that department.
So, with truly no professionalism and no respect for the system of laws and freedoms that allow them to exist and no sense of responsibility to their customers, they have turned over their charge to a bunch of teen age hackers and chat room lounge lizards who know as much about the political process as Pee Wee Herman does about Quantum Mechanics.
It's absolutely outrageous and I applaud the Republican party for refusing to participate in this embarrassment.
I just hope they can stick to their guns and not be lured into this humiliating circus.

Obama will bend over for every tyrant yet not talk to Brit Hume
What is up with that? The You tube debate was a joke. CNN still had the edit so great questions were set aside. The other networks lob softballs and the current debate structure sucks any way. How about 45 minutes per candidate, so handlers can't prep the candidate.

Fox is as legitimate a news source as CNN or MSNBC.

Don't fool yourself. The YouTube questions were anything but from random people. They were all carefully vetted and guided to (or away from) just the right candidates.
The Republicans who have said they might not go on have said because the YouTube debate just got silly. Come on, a question to someone who could be the next president of the United States ... from a snowman?!?

A little dignity, please.

It was inevitable that we'd start seeing the FOX debate thing come up when the Republicans started rejecting the CNN You Tube Debate. In their usual twisted way they think the two situations are interchangeable.

But the fact is that no matter how they try to spin it the American people are going to see it as them being afraid to take questions from the general public. The public isn't stupid, they see the Republicans hopping from one foot to the other to walk that line between not wanting to seem a Bush supporter but also wanting to keep to the "party line." The general consensus will be that the Republicans are afraid of public opinion taking the form of too many pointed questions. They just keep shooting themselves in the foot, and I'm not real unhappy to see it. It just cements this Independent's intention to vote Democratic this time around, as if I needed more reasons why.

EDIT: The cons answering your question are cracking me up. They can blather on about how it wasn't dignified and wasn't really a debate all they please. The fact is it was the most watched and talked about debate so far in the campaigns.

The democrats won't go on fox news, because fox is a totally conservative news outlet. All information can be skewed, and don't believe that it doesn't happen.

Well, the Democrat youtube debate didn't offer us anything different. It was the same answers. The questions were filtered by the candidates so I don't see how you can put down the Republicans. Also this idea that FOX news is biased is and the other outlets are not is ridiculous.

EDIT: Personal id like to see both parties forced to give good full answers that the people ask. If you think the people only would give tough questions to the Republicans you are sadly mistaken!
