ok i just got the game final fantasy tactics [[ebay]] my friend let me borrow his brand new ps2 cause he has 3 so will final fantasy tactics work on ps2--it's the original one the one that came out in 1998 on ps1 will it work??

depends where you are.
The Ps1 games are region-locked (a US game will only play on US Ps2s, a European will only play European)
I don't think FF tactics was released here (the UK) so if you have a UK console then no.
Shorter answer, try it. It wont hurt the Ps2 or disc, it'll just refuse to play it.

Yes it will work.
FF Tactics is one of the best games to grace the PS1, it is currently being re-created for the psp.
you can also unlock cloud from FF7 in that game... pretty sweet
