Have you ever worn headphones in public?

When walking around in the city or something? I know this is kind of random, but doesn't it feel weird wearing those around because they're sort of bigger than whatever people normally listen to their music with? What do you guys think of wearing headphones in public?

every single day, but mine are a little smaller than my ear and wrap around my ear. I have had the ones your speaking about when I lived in NYC (born and raised there) they would keep my ears warm in the winter. no it doesn't feel weird, I feel weird when I don't have them. As far as what I think about it, I don't I mean I do it, everyday. Who cares what other people think. Why would I wear headphones in the house, I have my stereo. That's what's portable CD Players, MP3 Players (my fave), cassette players (for the retro people) are for. I don't know where you live but it's very normal I see at least 30-50 people through out the course of my day including my self w/ them on. The question is why does it bother you?


Oh and to fizzygirl1980 what are you taking a survey of people who wear headphones. No we don't generally listen to "underground" we listen to anything we want I like R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Gospel, Alternative, Rock & Roll, Showtunes, whatever hits my fancy at the moment. No we who wear headphones are not dying to talk about what we are listening to. We generally want to be left alone so we can go about our business. We are trying to avoid ignorant people like you. Most of us who are completely professional about ignoring people like you in addition to bringing our MP3 Players, & CD Players we also bring a book so that you can never mistake that we want anything to do with you!

I think people who purposely wear the larger headphones around in public are just dying to discuss what they're listening to with the rest of the world. Most of the people I know who wear those headphones around town are sort of pretentious types who only listen to "underground" bands and think everything that is "mainstream" is not real music. I personally wouldn't wear the big headphones because if someone came up to me thinking I was one of those cool, pretentious music types, and I told them I was listening to Journey or something, they might die of disappointment.

It seems they're getting bigger and bigger! I see people on the subway with these HUGE earphones LOL. My little earbuds I bet sound just as good. Anyhow, I think those big headphones look dumb.

I wear them at school and the store or something,the little earphone ones that go in your ears.I hate those over the head headphones!

I wear the ones you put in your ears in public.
I've seen people wear the big ones in public.

yeah. as long your headphone aren't like big. nobody cares.

easy target for criminals and all kinds of stuff. you need to pay attention to whats going on.
