I suppose that's subjective. Depends on your point of view. I think crud happens to all of us, it's just that some of us navigate the shaft better than others. So it appears we (bad people?) never get the shaft. Those who get dramatic over getting the shaft really feel like they're getting the shaft. I kind of live by the principle that the universe is what you make it and you only get from your life what you allow (whether you're good, bad, or indifferent). That really seems to work.

Look - your ex - what kind of life is he REALLY leading? It can't be a bed of roses. Besides - if he keeps using the meth - he'll be dead eventually and that's not what you want for yourself, right? That's why you're doing what you're doing. Nothing is free in this world, there are no free rides, and there is no such thing as easy. The grass always looks greener on the other side, when in reality - there are just as many weeds and bare spots "over there". It's hard now - but you'll look back on this and realize it was all worth it. It will get easier. You're just still in a rough spot.

It seems like that at first, but you have to be patient. It's like this: my ex-sister in law is a maniac. She's a user, she causes trouble for everyone, she loves to call the police on people and invent issues (seriously!) to drag them into court (only to have the cases dismissed), she is just a horrible person. Yet, she's living "free" - my brother gives her money, she dumped her kids with various men, etc etc.
It seems like she's getting off scot-free, while the rest of us work hard, pay bills, and be responsible.....but then you realize- she has no friends. Her own parents have disowned her. She can't keep a job. She's pushing 40 and has no future. Her kids won't respect her later. While she's running around causing drama, people like me are quietly, happily married and getting ahead in life.
So... who's getting the breaks? The shaft?

You know what I've noticed, the good guy gets tested first. Most likely they will pass and succeed. Nothing good comes without pain. The bad guys get the break usually fal ontheir face after a while from boasting.

The right things happen to the right people at the right time.

hi there...it sure seems that way here too... we r hard working honest people and i know this so called lady that done identity theft on her 3 daughters ages 23 to 19 and her son is only 17 soon to be 18. and she even cheated the government on Income tax and she never gets caught...i don't understand that either,, but i have to believe that we must live an honest life to get anywhere in this world....just keep your faith and good things will come your way.....stay sweet they will get what they deserve in the end, i keep thinking to myself when i am laying in my coffin i think i will be sadly missed and people will see me for whom i am...what will people see the bad ones for??

I don't think that most good people get the shaft and the bad ones get all the breaks. Good people are good because of the choices they make and bad people are bad because of the choices they make. I believe in Karma....I treat people the way I want to be treated...in the end you get what you deserve.

They might get the breaks now but when they have to face the big guy upstairs they will get what is coming. However I am very lucky and I like to think I am a good person.

I'm not sure what has happened to you, but I'm sorry that it has.

It does seem that way, but I think it's because the people who choose to go outside of the norm get that "instant gratification" and the good people get more lasting rewards.

Maybe the only reward for the "good" people is dignity and integrity. Priceless things.
That's what I feel has been my reward.
