The bible is against a lot of things, but just because an ancient book says that something is wrong, doesn't mean it actually is wrong. We have to consider more than what the bible says and think for ourselves, caring and accepting the people we come face to face with every single day. I think they deserve more of a chance than a book people blindly follow.

Agreed. Let's face it. There's only one part of the Bible you can take seriously, and that's the NT, mostly the Gospels. It says no where in the Gospels that homosexuality is wrong. Besides that the Bible has been translated, cut, had parts omitted, had books omitted, etc. It's nothing like what it was originally. Look at this example by ZER0 C00L™.
These are the two verse where it says homosexuality is wrong in the NT:
"1 Corinthians 6:9 was a mistranslation of the word "malakee". It's used elsewhere in the Bible to mean someone who lacks discipline or one who is morally weak, and never is it used in reference to sexuality or gender.
The words "physin" and "paraphysin" in Romans 1:26-27 have also been mistranslated. Contrary to popular belief, the word "paraphysin" does not mean "to go against the laws of nature", but rather implies action which is uncharacteristic for that particular person. An example of the word "paraphysin" is used in Romans 11:24, where God acts in an uncharacteristic (paraphysin) way to accept the Gentiles. When the scripture is understood correctly, it implies that it would be unnatural for heterosexuals to live as homosexuals and for homosexuals to live as heterosexuals."

Preach on, Sister Sidnii!!!
Yes, I totally agree. Those who insist on taking the Old Testament at face value, word for word, are not pleasing God- they are being hypocrites. Just remember, though, it's not just about the Bible- gay rights are being repressed by the Republicans, and apparently a lot of the Democrats as well. On that Democratic candidate debate with the You Tube link the other week, only one out of all the candidates was for gay marriage- the best the others could offer was some sort of legal contract giving them rights to shared benefits, etc.

I have never met anyone that wrote the Bible. I have no idea about their character.
Hilter was great as a young politician...lots of great ideas for all mankind and to build up his country...but look at what else he believed in.....
Man is flawed. Many men will make claims and statements that others will follow like sheep to the slaughter....most recently...GW Bush...those Iraq's have WMD...blah blah blah...but were there any? NO....we went into a war and the majority of the country followed...without question....
You can not put your faith in someone you really can't trust. The men that wrote the Bible had personal agendas....it being proven as we speak.

Hi, the bible is an old book that has been translated so many times it has lost loads of what it started out saying, also during translation people have added there own little bits and point's of view for there own gain, i know god does not hate me as he is the one who created me, he knows i am gay and i have no problem reconciling my sexuality and my religion

In the universal example that supposedly defines homosexuality,Sodom and Gomorrah, the nastiest sin the desert dwellers committed was demanding that Lot give him his male guests to have sex with. The worst sin there was the violation of hospitality; Lot actually offered up his daughters to them to gang-bang to make them go away.
How these apply today is pretty weak.

Why do you concern yourself with what is in The Christian Bible... you are not bound by the law of The Bible. The Bible of The True Christian Faith is not intended for non-believers. The Word of God may not be imposed upon any one. It is only for those who are of The Church.
However... dispite the corrupt media saying otherwise... the majority of people still find homosexual acts to be wrong... and this will continue to be the case... and most will still petition to have mortal laws against the promotion of homosexual activities.

I can't take credit for this, but it is circulating around the net, I think goes well with your point. It is written to Dr. Laura, a conservative talk show host who speaks out against gay rights.
Dear Dr. Laura,
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.
a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?
i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help.
Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
Your devoted disciple and adoring fan.
