Most of the people that are against using marijuana are influenced by what the biased media publicizes. Because they in turn are influenced by the big corporations that are threatened by hemp moving in and taking over from where the plastic and non renewable resources have the monopoly at present. Hemp was once used in manufacturing of goods that plastics now are enjoying without competition from a renewable resource such as hemp. Marijuana is a by product that the plastics industry has used to make hemp an undesirable material and illegal related material.
Marijuana smoke has been proven a safer drug than alcohol in so much that it does not produce violent behavior as alcohol does. For example, it is virtually unheard of anyone toked up on weed have committed a murder, beat up on spouses, and any related violent behavior as alcohol does.
So until our elected officials stop having the big multi national corporations influenceing their votes we will be dictated by them for a long time.

The war on pot legalization seems to miss one thing. Good writers, good spellers. People who can keep a straight face and otherwise. But its such a rash generalization of people as a whole that do do drugs. I for one haven't/never have/don't have a big problem with people who do/but wouldn't/don't have them around as friends. Its too much of a financial/mental pain in the butt. Yet cigarettes are still utterly disgusting. So, my judgment is they should legalize both or outlaw both, simple as that. Both are junk. Money waste and hobo candy. But the answer to your question would be, the same reason you probably see more no-pot smoking ad's then no smoking ad's.

Btw, I come from 2 family's of drinkers/druggies. Uncontrolled, and ultimately unbiased individuals to using/doing what is needed to control their life... I've seen drugs, alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes all used for one thing. Either to destroy or help calm, neither has failed to do the complete opposite in everyone I've known unless they keep a constant supply. All those things should be gone.

I don't look down on anybody who smokes pot. I find smoking pot kind of pointless, for me anyway, because it sketches me out and makes me extremely paranoid. However, it mellows other people out and just relaxes them. So I just live by the "Live and let live" sort of thing. I'm not going to judge a person just by what they like to take part in, especially if it doesn't affect me.

People need to blame a lot of the problems society has on something and who else is there to blame besides the non-aggressive potheads? It couldn't be poverty or guns or dsicrimination.............no, it's the potheads. Potheads sit on couches and get high. Go after the crackheads and heroine addicts who will kill people to get their fix. And everyone says that weed is a gateway drug. No it's not. I know plenty of people who do worse drugs and don't smoke pot. I also know plenty of people who smoke and still hold good jobs. Pot doesn't make you a fiend like most people think. You can still function and think. "But it harms your body." So does sugar and fat people! And you know that all the people who say it's harmful to your body eat fast food and crap all day.

I don't have a problem with your weed smoking. Frankly, I agree 100% with everything you've said. I almost shouted "AMEN". LOL! (And, just for the record, I am not biased. I don't smoke weed.)

I have never smoked pot...I like being in the right state of mind. I don't drink either for the same reason. I do know that every one that I have ever known that smoked pot either continued and are now on heavier drugs or worse... or they quite smoking because they didn't like what it was doing to their life. Pot is harmful to the body- breathing in any smoke is harmful.

It sounds to me like you are trying to rationalize your behavior for your own benefit....
