I believe that Joe Montana's image as a god-like icon of the NFL has already ebbed. But I believe that the main reason is the subsequent success of other QBs using the same West-Coast Offense that he was the first to enjoy.

Ironic that forgetting Joe Montana is the question, when Otto Graham has already been largely forgotten...nobody has come close to putting up winning numbers like Otto Graham. 105-17-4 record. Ten seasons...ten championship games...seven championship victories. Oh...and one season as a professional basketball player in which his team won the championship as well.

No! Joe Montana will never be forgotten, but Tom Brady have a chance to be better than Montana. Because Tom Brady is still young enough to win some more Super Bowl. I say Brady will win 3 more Super Bowl before he's done as a player and go down in history as the greatest QB in the NFL history. But he's not there yet, but he's on his way this year by winning another title, his team is loaded this year, offense and defense.

When the 2000 Ravens won the superbowl with arguably the greatest single season defense ever assembled, where the 1985 Bears then forgotten? No.

Montana won't be forgotten even if Brady wins another ring. There are too many die-hard football fans out to forget about a current hall of famer that easily.

No one will ever forget Montana its not just what he did on the field but the fact that he was even there. He like Brady was a mid to late round draft pic, but unlike Brady Montana is a little guy. He was also the First QB to be put into the "west coast Off." I'm not sure i would say Young was better but that's something else. But to Forget where you came from is to loose site of where you are going. you cant forget the greats

People remember Dan Marino and he never won a Super Bowl....Joe Montana wont be forgotten, in fact I'm sure a ton of people will think he was better (that's what happens...the people that came first are usually considered better) But no, Brady isn't going to make people just forget about anyone...

NO!

I don't see how people could be all over Tom's jock anymore than they are today. I really don't see anything changing if he wins another one.

His feat will not erase Montana's from everyone's mind. However, to clarify, I personally think Steve Young was better than Montana...but this is not the point here.

Montana will remain famous and in everyone's memories, even if Tom Brady wins the next three Super bowls.

We have LT today, but people still talk about Barry Sanders. Not a real good comparision to this situation, but I think you understand.

no! if a player wins more superbowls then the other player, that doesnt mean that this player is better then the other one. it just takes a great team effort to win a superbowl. winning more superbowl dosent make that person better. it depends on the way the player plays the game. montana was a great qb in his times, and now tom brady is good qb in his era. these guys r legends they will never be forgotten. they always be mentioned as one of the greatest!!

Are you kidding me. Joe Montana will never be forgotten. He will always be a fan favorite for those who watched him play. I'll never forget the game between the 49ers and the Chiefs. Joe was at the end of his career and Young was at the pinnacle of his and Joe showed Young how the game was played with an inferior Chief's team.

Ill answer in one word. NEVER! look, tom brady isn't an exceptional quarterback. All of the Patriots power comes from every other position. He is not a bad QB but not near the skill of Joe Montana.
