oh, no its okay! It opens up from the same internet explorer, but its just 6 different windows. :) Check your RAM (go to my computer, right click C drive, and go to properties) If it's more than 500 mb, then you're fine. plus you have xp and dsl. $600 computers usually have a fair amount of RAM.
RAM (Random Access Memory) is how much your computer can process at one time. Internet Explorer doesnt use much, PLUS you have DSL so you're good to go! Good luck selling your things on eBay! I'll stop by and give a look at your stuff sometime!

That usually happens when u have little RAM. Go To Start, Right Click on my computer, then click properties. Under computer it should say .... RAM. Tell us what it says before RAM. Also when you have sites like Paypal and bank open it will slow it down more than normal sites. This is because those connections are secure connections taking up more internet bandwidth and sometimes more of your computers resources. I usually have that many open and im fine. I also dont have any secure pages open, so.... But as long as its not too slow you should be fine. Try downloading Mozilla Firefox

This might consume more RAM but it handles multiple windows opened better than internet explorer. If you need help again, just repost

The main issues would be your connection speed and how much RAM you have (browser instances do use some RAM).

Since you have DSL, there shouldn't be any problem at all relating to your connection.

If the amount of RAM were an issue, I think you would have noticed problems before now. You might want to check into your options for upgrading your RAM, but don't worry about it too much.

yes, the more windows open them more strain on the cpu and your internet connection when you do that again press ctrl+alt+del and click on the processes tab and look for processes such as iexplore.exe and view the mem usage. as you'll see it is wuite high having more of these combined together increases cpu usage! look below the cpu usage % will be quite high! so it does slow comp and normal but nearly because internet explorer does mainly use more memory than majority of programs nevertheless there are alternatives which exist but i fairly doubt any difference but no harm trying!

yes it does, you have way too many windows open. download and run "ccleaner", after the download run the cleaner to clean all those left over cookies and other things that may be slowing it up. then you can start all over again with the 6 windows open, but you'll at least have cleaned out all that stuff that was slowing it down. hope this helps, good luck.

You can open as many sites as your ram will allow. If you notice your machine slowing down, do a Ctrl/Alt/Delete and click the performance tab and check to see how much ram is being used, because ram is your only limitation.
