my girlfriend is white and some of her friends dont like that me and her r dating

Because they are bigots or too close minded to know any better. That's got to be extremely rough on you guys, I wish you the best of luck. If her friends can't accept her choice in boyfriends, maybe they aren't really good friends after all.

It's funny that black men seem most concerned by this question, but are the hardest on black women for making the same choice.
The "bigotry" that causes such negative feelings is not restricted to whites.
If the truth be told it is black men who are the most bigoted in this regard. For they will rip a black woman to shreds for daring to date a white man, while simultaneously looking at white women and saying how fine they are.
So if you want to know the answer check first with other black men and ask them why they think it should be a given for them to date white women if they choose, and expect complete approval, YET will be ready to humiliate and degrade any black woman who dares to do the same and dat a white man.
Those answers will be much closer to the root of the problem than any answer from a white guy or gal.
Personally, it's stupidity on all sides.
The only reason why two people should date is if they have mutual attraction. Color should NOT ever be a factor.

Though it's rare to see judgmentalness against interracial dating it happens generally in areas where intigration isn't widely accepted so if it's an issue it's probably based on the way people are raised.

i agree with Johnny m. he took the words out my mouth. black men are the worse when it comes to interracial dating. they quick to say something but them are the same ones dating white women. so hypocritical. And then we're the "sellouts" as they call it.
the main reason why people judge is closemindedness and ignorance. that's all it is.

I don't know. I've dated black guys, white guys. I dated an Asian guy for awhile. He was nice. No one ever commented on the race of the guy I was dating, but I did get a few comments on the gender from time to time.

some are bigots...
some aren't brave enough to do it themselves because of the expected backlash, so they resent the people they see....
but i think most folks just believe you should "keep it in the race", to them its almost as if the guy/girl has rejected EVERYBODY in their race because of some imagined undesirable trait(s) and this is like a betrayal to them...
i'll use myself as an example... i was watching wheel of fortune yesterday, an absolutely BEAUTIFUL black woman happened to be playing and actually made it to the bonus round...
earlier on she said she was married, and when the bonus round came, they actually showed her family; her mom, her sister and a white guy (husband)... to be honest it kinda irked me, partly because somebody that fine made that choice, and partly because i wondered what kind of brothers she must have encountered (or NOT encountered) to have made that choice her best option...
same thing i think with Kerry Washington (black actress)... that a non-black schmo LUCKED OUT in my opinion to get her...
but then again they say stuff like love is blind and the heart wants what it wants, so at the end of the day i guess that all that really matters

Not everyone does. People that believe stereotypes generally are the ones that judge others in that respect. Why do they? They're ignorant.

Its alot better than it used to be . You know , the whole history of sex tension between the races . This has nothing to do with your good feelings and romance youve found . Cherish the relationship , and good luck .
