my best friend is a girl named kaiey and we always hang out and people think we r lesbian, but we aren't! we r both straight and its not just other kids! kailey has a boy friend named tanner well tanners mom thinks we are lesbian too! seriously cant people see we r just friends. kailey and i even gotten so use too it we just agree to what they say. but honestly why do they think that? we r only 12!

I know where your coming from. I'm 14 and i had a friend and we would always hang out, have sleepovers and go to the movies. They thought we were lesbians because we were so close. But trust me, its because they are jealous. They want a friend like that. Someone who will always be there.
As for tanners mom some people just don't understand a good relationship. You two are best friends and like to spend time doing the girl stuff, like painting your nails and prank calling hot guys. Trust me I am a girl too and they are just dumb. Don't let anyone get in the way of you and your friend having a good time. No one should stick their nose in your business and i hope you will do as i did and ignore them. I let some bad people come in between me and my best friend. Now he won't ever speak to me again for something that was stupid. So good luck and don' let anyone get in your way of having a good time. =]

Wait a second. You are both only 12. One of you is dating Tanner, at 12. And Tanner's mother has said to you or to Tanner that she thinks you're a lesbian. Right?
What kind of trashy neighborhood do you live in? At 12 years old I wouldn't allow my child to date, I wouldn't assume any child of being any sort of orientation. Tell you parents that Tanners mother is spreading adult rumors around about you and hopefully the authorities will investigate.

God I sound like a patronizing idiot...
You can only ignore them, but public demonstrations of you with a guy may either. But if they are really that bent on picking on you, it will make no difference.
The kid who called my best friend gay last year, guess what? Gay. Kissing a guy in public. Normally, it is a cover for other people for they feel it draws attention away from their own problem.
Do you touch often? Sit a little too close? All the little stuff overlooked like that can make an impact on how people react to you.
Just be glad you have such a close friend.
