dye sub generally uses a special type of liquid ink, whereas wax printers (which my friend says are really awesome, btw) use large bricks of coloured wax to form the prints. i do not think wax can be used to print on metal or cloth, but dye sub can.

don't take my word for it though, i'm not an expert in either of those types of ink. i'm just going by what my customers have told me.

Yes, there is a HUGE difference.

Dye sub is the technology arounf which "photo printers" that are specific for camera work with (not the cheapo inkjets ones they do now either) and needs special paper.

Wax is as said, solid blocks of wax, uses normal paper, but EXPENSIVE to run, and if the heads block, it's a new printer time
