What is the best plan. Will save money just getting a room I like when I get there or will I save money getting on through orbitz or something before hand.

Depends in all honesty what kind of hotel you want to stay in. If any old joe will do, then you can wait until you get there. But if you want to stay in one of the nicer hotels, then I would suggest booking in advance. Look at hotels.com or travelocity.com that is where I always get my deals whenever I travel. =) Have fun lots to do there!

Find something before you get there. The hotels there are usually pretty well book and many well in advance. You might can find a cabin. Also look back toward Piegon Forge to widen your search. Alpine Chatels are very nice. (I think I spelled it right).

get online and rent a cabin. Its much more fun. They have everything for you there. You only need to bring food.
It is very comparable to the hotels.
Sunset Cottages is one. Its really nice.
