I have been on antibiotics more days in the month of July than not. Now open to any herbal, alternative means for help. Don't want to go to the doctor again, only to be put back on antibiotics, as this is the reason Staph and MRSA are spreading into the community. Thanks.

I appreciate everyone who is responding with alternative ideas, as I have been to the Dr.'s twice already. Also, I just graduated from RN school, so I am well aware of Staph and MRSA and the importance of medical treatment. Just looking for natural, homeopathic ideas now. Thank you.

I am taking apple cider vinegar and Turmeric pills daily, and using an antiseptic wash. I am seeing improvements finally, more so than with the antibiotics. =)

You need to go back to a doctor. People die from staph infections. If I were in your position I would take large doses of Vit C, zinc, CoQ10 and as many antibiotics as I could get my hands on.

My dad had this infection and it was awful. His type was resistant to most antibiotics so my mom was forced to use alternative means. Let me say now that I am not going to pretend to know the exact details of the entire process my parents went through...it was a touchy subject at the time which caused a lot of stress and wasn't openly talked about in my family. I just thought I would offer the details that I know in hopes that I can help..
I know this for a fact- my mom eventually found this solution which I know about only because she gave it to me to use on a piercing infection that I recently acquired. It's called 'ultra colloidal silver' and it is a dietary supplement that is extremely effective when applied directly to the infected area. I know she applied this solution to his dressings and that the infected area cleared soon afterwards. My piercing has also cleared up in a matter of days.
I know everyone is different and this solution may not work wonders for every case but I would definitely recommend looking into the silver after personally seeing its effects. It couldn't hurt to try I'm sure. Hope I helped and Best of luck

If you have a infection, you should take
anti-biotics.
After finishing the course of treatment take :
Acidophilus: 1 pill (1-2 billion live organisms) twice a day. Take if your doctor has prescribed antibiotics.

I use olive leaf extract. it is a natural anti biotic. I take it for a another reason. i was using medicines that cost me 150 a month which didn't work well. Now I use olive leaf extract for a month now and stopped medicines. It works so much better and I feel so relieved and it stopped my symptoms.
hers a link, so some research. Only thing not to take it with anti biotic, Because antibiotics will cancel out its effects.

It sounds like the antibiotics aren't working. There is a flower called calendula which is very easy to get. That's a natural remedy for skin infections. You might try that in addition to what your Dr. gives you.

See a reputable ND (naturopathic doc) or TCM (traditional chinese medicine) doctor...they can guide you on strengthening your immune system and fighting ANYTHING.
Strong acidolphlus (sp?) is a great place to start. I know a doc that has his kids take 30 billion with each meal. Here's what I take with each meal or I even upped it this weekend with food poisoning and bam...it was gone!!

Please listen to this and it will get rid of the staph...but you must take it daily pretty much from now on or at least when it is hot out...staph loves heat and sweating...winter isn't so bad...but NEEM will control it...seriously...this worked for me and I got staph from a hospital...the worst kind...
