The olfactory nerves have a lot to do with taste. Taste definitely changes, and so do aversions to smells.
Aromatherapy is huge right now, so there is a definite link between smelling things and mood.
However, those things might be extremely hazardous to be smelling, especially for the baby.
Stop smelling those things, and tell your doctor. He might have a good explanation for it.

Yea it is normal, however i dont think its a good idea to smell it that is very harmful to the baby. Usually though when you have a craving for odd products like that it means your body is in need of a certain mineral or vitamin that could be found in the product. As long as your taking your prenatals you should be fine, but its always wise to contact the doc jus incase... I craved the smell of bleach when i was pregnant lol but i was fine as long as i didnt sniff it :)

Cravings such as this during pregnancy is called Pica. It is not normal most pregnant women have cravings for stuff like pickles and ice cream. However, this does happen to some women. You need to let your doctor know about this.
