Yes, yet I myself was eating paper when I was about 10 or so because I was copying off what I saw in a Garfield cartoon, where there was no food so Garfield just drew the food onto paper and ate it.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, the surveys at the Dr's office asked all sorts of weird questions like do you eat ice, paper, clay...I think it means your body is lacking something important, like iron.
