I'm 13, and I think its about time i started shaving down there.
I have no idea what I'm doing or what i should do. what am i supposed to shave and what should I not shave, and what are pre-shaving procedures? Any good products i should take into consideration?

well i dont shave down there. i never have and never will. i wax and i know people say it doesnt hurt but it really doenst. im not just saying that because i used to be so scared to go and have my bikini line waxed but now its not even that big of a deal.

I dont think it hurts at all.. maybe just the top bit.. but only for like 2 seconds. and the girl that i go to is really really good. she talks the whole time and you dont even really think about what she is doing so i never feel the slightest bit uncomfortable.

if you do wax make sure you exfoliate the area after wards and moisturise it so you dont get any ingrown hairs. waxing looks so much better and lasts longer. just be careful if you opt for doing it yourself as it can cause bruising if you pull the wax strip the wrong way. And apparently the shorter the hair the less it hurts but you still need to have enough for the wax to grab. so you might wanna trim before hand.

A lot of people do not shave. You can trim- much easier. Now, if you're in a swimming suit and you see stuff- just shave that area only. Do not shave anymore than necessary. Only your upper thighs should need it. Shave in the shower. Wait a few minutes for your skin to soften up. Use Gillette Venus- then you don't need shaving cream so you can see better. Shave downwards.

You are only 13 you must not have much hair "down there" so to speak and why do you want to shave? Alot of women leave there hair there and never shave at all can you tell me why you have the desire to start shaving. If you do you must make very sure you have a sharp razor and use cream. But trust me once you shave you will always want to because when it starts to grow in it will itch horribly! I am 25 i don't shave.

You could take scissors and trim your pubic hair.
Then you could use a sensitive skin shaving cream or gel while in the shower. Shaving is always better when wet and even better after the area is softened with bathing or showering. I wash off with soap afterwards because shaving products irritate me.

You could just shave the bikini area so that when wearing underwear or a swimsuit you look nice or you can shave the genital area. I would not shave the entire pubic bone area as it will get irritated and itch like hell.

The products you use are up to you, but using sensitive skin products and products for women are a good plan.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't suggest shaving it all off, maybe a nice neat trim would be the best way for a 13 year old.

I think 13 is too young to be doing any sort of shaving down there to be honest but if your going to do it then trim it.

If you shave it all off bel me once it starts growing back it is so bloody itchy...

try using a comb and scissors first, (run the comb against the direstion of the hair and cut it with the scissors) trimming your hair instead of shaving causes way less problems (yeast infections, razor burn, ingrown hairs) and with shaving you often get very small cuts on the "pink parts" even when you are careful which can cause infection or scarring over time. I know it is hard to get used to having anything down there, but shaving isn't worth it. It also makes periods more uncomfortable if you use a pad at any time.

if you feel you MUST shave, trim the hair down first anyway. its easier to shave away short hairs than long ones. Shave in a downwards motion with lots of shaving cream, and rinse your blade often.

I personally find that Dove body wash or Dove bar are good, I don't use shaving cream. These are good for legs and armpits as well as for "down there". As for the actual technique, it's a bit tricky but gets easier. I shave the hair at the top of my legs, the part that would show when wearing underwear, as well as the part on the mons. The rest is tricky to shave as the skin is not taut, so I just trim it with nail scissors.

Honestly, I think shaving is a big mistake cause once the stubbles starts growing, it just gets thicker. Not to mention the rash and itch that comes with it. If you really do need to get it clean down there, well you could trim it, or use one of those creams. I feel that waxing is still the way to go if you dont mind the pain though. I hope it helps. Good luck!

I don't think you should worry about or be shaving down there at 13, unless you have a lot that shows in a bathing suit.
