In NC you are an legal adult at the age of 16 and can leave, now get this your parents are responsible for you until your 18.

It depends on what state you're in. In NYS its 15. In Texas its 18. But without knowing what state you're discussing, I have no idea.

18, thats when you are legally considered an adult, they could still call you in but there isnt anything anyone can really do about it.
