You really should read this great article on the site, titled, "Natural Cures for Puffy Eyes and Dark Circles". I'll post the link below. There is a lot of great information, and tips to get rid of, and prevent under eye circles.
*I know of one home remedy, that cures eye puffiness...Try:
Moisten two chamomile tea bags (not dripping though) with warm water. Lie down, and place the bags over your closed eyes, and relax for 15 minutes. It works because the herb helps to reduce swelling.

I have read that the only thing that works for dark circles is vitamin K. There are a few vitamin K creams. But I tried them a few years ago and they did not work for me. Maybe because my dark circles are genetic. If your dark circles are due to lack of sleep, maybe using cold compresses of chamomille tea would help because they help with inflammation. Puffiness usually disappears after a few hours (meaning that it's more noticeable when you wake up). What I have done for the dark circles is to use concealer (I found a really good one by Cover Girl: Advanced Radiance, No. 205). I hope this helps.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

You need to relax at least 2 hours before you want to go to sleep. Be in a dim room with little lights because lights are what keep our brains alert and on. Get a white noise machine. The constant sound puts anyone to sleep. I use to have insomia and I got a white noise machine and I go to sleep within an hour of going to bed. Use St. Ives face gel to help relieve those dark circles. It works really well.
