I Never Promised You a Rose Garden by Joanne Greenberg

An award winning novel based on the true story of a young girl dealing with schizophrenia. The book allows you to really get into the mind of someone with mental illness, to see what they see. It has one of the most fascinating endings I have seen. In the end, life goes on =)

I absolutely loved "It's Kind of a Funny Story" by Ned Vizzini. It's on of the best books that I have ever read!

You can get a full summary at this link here. And I do mean a FULL summary (including the ending).
