Men can really cook well if they put their minds to it, it's just that most of them have no desire to do so and the ones that do go far and excell.
My husband is a pastry chef and fantastic in the kitchen - he can make anything!! I, on the otherhand, can only manage to burn toast.

Because it truly is a "mans" industry. No different than any other corporation. Plus the hours stink. If you want to get ahead in this industry, you have to work many late nights, and early mornings. I agree to with Sarah up above.
