Why yes it is anti American. But they have committed themselves to losing. I think it has something to do with their commitment to the terrorist who are funding their campaigns.

It is anti-American in the fact that it puts the Democrat's political aspirations above the security of the United States. They are deathly afraid that we will win the war in Iraq because that would mean that the Republicans were right and the likes of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha were nothing but traitorous cowards. The Democrats know that if we win the war, or if its going well, before the next election that their shot at taking the White House diminishes greatly.

Only if you think this war defines America - meaning, that without this war, America is nothing.

I don't happen to believe that.

I also happen to believe that it would be fantastic to win the war - but anyone with a functioning brain cell realizes that (1) this is not a war just because people use that word to describe it, and (2) it isn't possible to win when you're fighting an ideology - terrorism comes from hatred, which is an invisible enemy. Can't win against it. Someone who hates you is capable of pretending they love you if they think it will bring them closer to destroying you.

There is no way to defeat hatred.

John, what do you consider "winning" the iraq war, maybe a thriving democracy. That will never happen. Sunni's and Shiites hate each other, the only way to make peace in Iraq is to take all the Sunni's and move them to Saudi Arabia, and give northern Iran to the kurds. I always thought the easiest part of this process would be to get the laws passed, but that you would never get the people to follow them. They can't even agree to the laws. They have gotten nothing done in the 6 years we have been there. It's time.

Because it is. And, in thier view, it's bad for America, because as bad as losing a foreign war might be (see Vietnam), continued Republican leadership is worse, because it means that Democrats aren't in power. And being in power is every political party's top priority.

Whoa someone has seen the light. "Demon"crats want no positive actions of any kind to be attributed to the Republicans, even if our soldiers pay the price. They are the anti-American party.

They entire platform is based upon failure and withdrawal in Iraq. If the US wins they have lost the centerpiece of their agenda.

Because that would prove the republicans were right. God forbid either party does something right - that would mean we have a "working" government!! Ahhhhhh - oh the humanity!

LOL...since we're NOT winning in Iraq and continue to do poorly there isn't your point moot?

I'd say it's pretty anti-American to send our young generation to Iraq to DIE in a pointless war that has already been "accomplished"
