My life has been, for the most part, a beautiful beach washed by wave upon wave of joy. I have suffered some very great tragedy in my life but not after any particular great happiness. Indeed if that were the pattern I would say that I was long over due.

After immense happiness comes great exhaustion and a little bit of guilt.
Did this question come from one of the fortune cookies you asked for?

It is not the rule at all. If you find this happening, there could be other factors behind it or it could just be that the come down from the elation you felt makes to feel kinda depressed. Couple that with a any trigger and the blues can move in. But they don't have too.

If going to either extreme is unhealthy, then wouldn't it be better have an even-keel attitude in all aspects? Manic depression is having highs and lows to any extreme; hence the word "immense" is what bothers me. I accept defeat, winning, good, bad, and even so-so as a daily part of life without going to any extreme. Am I the one who's crazy?

Yeah it has! it's like a big bomb dropped me on me all of the sudden. When too many good things happen to me at once I feel that's too good to be true. I'm sceptical...
I love sweets so i use the analogy that you can never have too much of anything. It's bad for you. The same thing with happiness. You can't have too much of it. The same goes for sadness.
I think life is cylical... goes through phases.
i liked your question.

yes it has, but the statement is not true.
sometimes great happiness lasts a long time.
you just have to decide where you want to live.
I used to live in the trough of life. sad all the time. then I realized what a fool I was and got angry. I challenged myself to live on the crests of live, and that is where I have been ever since.

"God Loves You" because God is love, according to the Bible. May Jesus bless you always. Read the Bible daily, go to chuch that covers the entire Bible, and walk with God. I do not know where you are from, but some of my friends, ex-muslims, came to Christ as Jesus manifested Himself to them. I read the same about the Chinese and other nations. Below is just an example when I google with keywords: Jesus Muslims dream

My life is rather boring and mundane, so any happiness I ever get usually goes back to my reality. I guess its up and down.
