I agree. Any person that bases their political campaigns off of losing in Iraq should be ousted for being unpatriotic.

No one in this country deserves to be ousted, it just proves that the liberal way of thinking is not correct!!!!!
Maybe we should hold a huge bar b que and raost up a ton of Crow for them to eat, but they will have to remove thier foot first....
Maybe we should not believe the people in politics, and starts beliving in the troops that have sacrificed so much to protect those citizens of other countries as well as our freedoms we take for granted.
The dems all supported this war in the early stages, but when popular polls showed a decline of interest in the war, the dems thought that it would be a good idea and jump on the bandwagon, just because Bush proposed the war. They then called it Bush's illegal war. True Bush was president during the war, but the president cannot declare war without the approval of the senate. and he got approval, which means that the war is in fact legal......
Had there been a dem in the white house, they would all be for the war, and stating that we need more troops.
Here some food for thought, and its just my opinion....
I agree that we need to get out men and women in uniform home, and home soon, but here is how I would do it.
I would deploy twice as many troops there and give them unlimited funding to end this war faster, I would give them full reign over combat situations, meaning that there will not be an official investigation of thier actions if a bullet is fired. I would tell them to make war like they did back iin 1941-1945, do what ever needed to be done to get the job done, then get out of there.
The dems are the ones actually to blame for the length of the war in Iraq. With thier limitaions they set forth on the spending for the troops, to the limits they have set to the number of troops that are there.
My fear is that they are trying to run the war from over here, and they have no real idea how it really is over there, just like in Vietnam. We could have been in Vietnam a total of 2 years, and won, but the people in politice dragged it out by not doing anything, and making it a police action.
I just hope that Iraq doesnt turn into another vietnam.....

Be advised, the NY Times didn't report it, it was an OP/ED column. The column was written by the same person who wrote in 2002 that we will easily win the war in 4-5 years. The NY Times will publish opinions that may be contrary to those of the editorial staff.

I would not say that the US is winning HUGE in Iraq. However, we are accomplishing what we set out to do, oust a dictator and establish a democratic Iraqi government. Hopefully, a realistic timetable for pull out can be established, and completed. The Democrats, including John Murtha, my representative, seem to be willing to repeat the mistakes of the Vietnam War for political gain. Sadly, too many people, including the media, are swayed by their rhetoric.

You are a true fool. This is nothing like Vietnam. Us Dems are very fond of our troops and we are trying to keep them from unnecessary death. We praise them for their bravery. And thank them relentlessly for everything they are doing. The heartless GOP has no problem sending in somebody else to fight for them. They have all the courage in the world sitting behind a desk. Winning what? So you read a biased Newspaper. That is the only fact I see in your question. Try some real research.

I'm a Democrat, I served and no one spit in my face. This is an urban myth pertetuated by the Chuck Norris School of History.
And exactly what are we winning in Iraq? 3600 troops dead, a thriving terrorist spawning ground, a corrupt and cowardly "ally" in the Iraqis, a bankrupt foreign policy that has been playing this war by ear for 4 years now.

LOL yeah we're kicking butt over there. That's why you can read about some bomb that exploded killing American soldiers just about every day. Sounds like a real winner today.
In other news...yet another republican senator under investigation for corruption.
If anybody is hitting the road in 08 it's going to be more republicans.

all there is left to do now is to push their government to be able to run itself which was the original goal , in September we should get a good idea of if that is possible within a reasonable amount of time
