I am going to buy an oceanfront condominium near Miami, Florida. Nothing fancy, just a one bedroom condo. How much should I expect to pay for the apartment insurance? Outside insurance is handled by the condo association.

Not sure. Here in DFW area in Texas, we pay 15 a month for renters insurance in our 2 bedroom apartment.

If you aren't local to here already ... be warned.

Building insurance on oceanfront properties in south Florida has been doubling or more every year -- hurricane insurance is very expensive. condo associations do the best they can, and their monthly maintenance fees are rising rapidly.

that said ... a lot depends on construction and hurricane protection methods already installed.

could be 500/yr or 5,000/year

you need to be talking to local insurance brokers ...

GL -- you'll need it.
