Shredded Jerky from the gas station, comes in a can.
Go to Walmart, or Super Target and buy those snack packs, that come with small bags of many different kids of chips, or cookies
Make mini sandwhiches if you can keep them cool while on a road trip
Tuna snack packs if you like tuna
Ritz Crackers, or something with similar packaging...

I would eat something that you don't usually eat while home. Search the areas before you go and find good out of the way places...like Rachel Ray suggests on $40 a day. It would be fun!

We used to load the car up with Payday candy bars, or nut bars. The protein filled us up. We didn't want to stop at restaurants to eat.
