I think I'll have a go at this as well..........

1. Kimberley. This is tricky, because Kimberley was the first city in the Southern Hemisphere to install electric street lighting in 1882. But then "lighting" isn't really "lamps". It could be just a flare of some sort, right? This made me think. But only for a while. If Johannesburg introduced lamps 13 years later, then I guess Kimberley did have lamps in 1882.

2. This question doesn't have an answer. A whole lot of controversy surrounds the naming of Johannesburg and all the claims have been nullified in some way. The records regarding the naming of Johannesburg were lost.

3. No, there aren't. Because of the river's geographical position, it is too cold in winter to support crocodiles.

4. Western Cape Province.

5. Marion Island. In terms of the Prince Edward Islands Act of 1948, the islands fall under the jurisdiction of the Cape Town Magistrate's Court, and South African law as applied in the Western Cape applies on them. The islands are also deemed to be situated within the electoral district containing the Port of Cape Town; as of 2006 this is ward 55 of the City of Cape Town. The Prince Edward Islands are considered South African soil!

Excellent question, dude!

1. Kimberley. In fact it was the first in the Southern Hemisphere

2. There are two streets in Joburg called Rissik (I get so nostalgic every time I go through that street in the morning) and Joubert (and there is also Joubert Park). Either of these. They both share the name, Johann – Johann Rissik and Johannes Joubert.

3. I am not sure about this one. If it’s a “tricky question”, I’d say - yes. You can use those rafts in that river. So, they are there!

4. My province – Western Cape

5. Also in my province, Western Cape at Cape Agulhas

1) Street lighting. . . .Cape Town
2) Johannes Rissik the surveyor or some give credit to Christiaan Johannes Joubert who was chief of mining and also a member of the Volksraad
3) No crocs in the past or at the present unless they were planted recently
4) With the renaming of the cities and provinces. . .who knows what it is called now. Sorry but when I read Jo'burg is in Gauteng, my first thought was that there is also a Johannesburg in China
5) Cape Agulhas. . . . .BTW it is also the only place in the world where one can stand on the rocks and fish for tuna
