Check the owner's manual, it should tell you. Usually it's the first 3,000 - 5,000 miles. When you're breaking the engine in, go easy on the gas, don't drive it real hard, and be sure not to cruise at one speed for extended periods of time (more than 10 minutes or so). You want to gradually work the engine through it's full range to let the rings seat properly.

generally it is about mileage and I go by the rule of thumb, first 1500 miles I don't take the car over 3500 rpm. then I get an oil change. Then I drive another 2000 miles without pushing to hard. After that I drive like a bat out of hell. I have had many cars and one for over 275,000 miles. I can say that I have probably driven over 750,000 miles in my lifetime so far. all of my cars have lasted me. though it may be overly cautious with the break-in period, but why risk it.

hi bro
i suggest u either 1)read the car intruction booklet
or 2)ask the salesman/dealer
otherwise, it'll be adviseable to drive very carefully and slowly, dont stress the engine for the first 2,000km.
its a big number, but the longer the run-in period. the better.
Cheers
Win

for the first 500 miles or so you dont need to baby it, but then again dont dog it. after the first 500 miles, have the oil changed and then you should be good to drive how you want to
