Yes they fool around just as much as men. It's just that women are better at covering their tracks than men. Women are extremely discreet and careful. Men want to believe that their wives will never fool around no matter how bad they mistreat them. Thus men are easily and often fooled by that notion.

yes, i believe women do fool around as much as men, but you don't hear about it near as much. Also, why people fool around: sexual desire. If they're married and they see someone whos HOTT, they usually don't ( and shouldn't ) do anything, because, well, they're married to someone else. Why they WOULD do it, however, is probably because they aren't satisfied with their current sex lives. It's usually a man married about 10-20 years with kids and a job they seem to always have to work "late" for, u know? hope this helps

I'm not sure if the number is equal between men and women, as it is hard to come up with such statistics...you have to first define what's considered cheating and assume that men and women are as open about discussing infidelity.
There can be a number of reasons, but cheating usually occurs when you're trying to fill a void or trying to escape from a situation, those who don't know/have better tools to cope can resort to cheating.

I think it is more hidden but I do think there are just as many married women fooling around as there are married men. I am not sure what reason they have but I have heard all excuses such as loneliness,boredom,and needing someone to show them some attention.

Both men and woman cheat but I have seen and learned that men do it more. I don't understand why people get married at all if they are cheaters. Marriage is a contract. Never enter into a contract you don't plan on keeping.

Judging from my peers (middle-aged women), apparently women fool around more. In each of my acquaintances' marriages that broke up, it was due to the woman's infidelity.

According to what I have learned no the number of wives who cheat is not as great as the number of men, however it is very close. Women tend to cheat because they feel their emotional needs are not being met.

-The last time I saw information about adultery, women were getting closer to the infidelity rates of men.
-The reasons people are unfaithful seem to be as varied as the people themselves.
