I will primarily use this laptop to surf the net and maybe work on some MS Word/Excel documents. The main attraction to these two models are the fact that they are Gateway and the price. I have owned 1 gateway for the past 6 years with no problems and it still runs great, as a matter of fact my brother is using it in college. The only factor that makes me feel very uncomfortable is the fact that i will be purchasing from BB, which is not known for its customer service. Any info that can be provided would be extremely beneficial. Thanks.

Go with the last one.
Reasons:
Big Hard drive
1 GB of Ram
Vista installed
dual core cpu
Dual layer DVD burner
My personal favorite is the wifi (All 3 kinds (a/b/g))

I am not a fan of Gateway comps b/c they are like dell with their tech support. I prefer HP Compaq and Sony laptops they have great tech help and there are places that you can buy all 3 of those brands which have recently started up a tech service, if you go to either Officemax.com or into your local officemax store they have people there who will know what they are talking about for laptops and desktops. I have seen some of the laptops my local officemax has and they have one that has 2048MB RAM and 240 GB hard drive it also has a 17" screen. They also do offer an opitional 2 or 3 yr service plan which covers accidental damage and normal wear and tear.

Gateway Notebook with Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology this is the one i would suggest not bcoz it is the costliest but it is better than the two models having dual core.
friend i would not suggest u dual core bcoz it sucks.

now comin to the model i suggested it has 1gb ram well enough for ur work.it should handle basic computing witout an problem.
it has an 15.4" screen big enough for ur movies and videos but it is not good in terms of portablity.
it comes wit an vista premium............its not an bad os it is great.

so ur problems are solved u should go for the third one,it is best one for u.

and far as for the BB service.

thank you,
shrenik

get the 3rd one. its the perfect size, but u will want to upgrade to 2gb of memory. if u dont play games than the intergrated graphics wont bother u. u cannot play games on it.
