The London lawyer representing the injured bomber Dhiren Barot today warns that terrorist convicts are being targeted by other inmates in British jails. And she predicts a Muslim 'backlash'.

Barot is a Muslim convert from London who was jailed for life last year for planning mass murder in London and New York with explosive-filled limousines and a radioactive 'dirty' bomb.

Apparently because he has been injured in prison he is expected to make a 'substantial compensation claim'.

His lawyer, Muddassar Arani has complained that Muslim prisoners in Durham's Frankland prison are in particular danger: 'There are not that many Muslim prisoners there, and there is safety in numbers...I don't understand why they can't put them in a separate wing where they can be protected.'

What do you think; are prisons failing in duty to 'protect' jailed terrorists?

Of course the prisons are guilty.

Prison is a place of rehabilitation as well as punishment. That should apply to all. Even scum like that terrorist. He should not be given any special treatment, apart from that given to any prisoner at risk of violence, eg. Ian Huntley.

What I am trying to say, is that no prisoner should be subject to violent attacks. No matter how much I or others may think that he deserves it. (And trust me, I am not too bothered if he gets the crap kicked out of him, I am aware it is wrong, even though I will smile at the thought.)

What courts is he planning to file a claim in? I mean honestly in his own courts he would have been put to death by now so he should be counting his blessings. Consequences are what we all face for wrong doings, so what he is facing should be no more different than anyone else, for every action there's a reaction. Why isn't he in a military prison? New international laws need to be applied for any terrorists, bottom line. Prisons fail all their inmates, like I had said in another answer, prisons have allot of bad things happen in them that the guards and admin turn a blind eye to, what makes him think he is special? Rapes and beatings go on in there daily, not that it is at all right, but he's even lucky to be alive, people die for less in there.

The penalty is deprivation of freedom not to be attacked by other inmates and therefore these people have to be protected. I understand that sexual perverts can ask for protection so why can not these people. I must confess that I have little sympathy for them, but think I know right from wrong here. Protect, yes. Grant privilages no other prisoner has, No therefore no separate prisons. Any Muslim who does not like it is free to leave and go to Saudie where they have a way with bombers

Worst part of prisons is you will find that prison officers tell the violent prisoners who to attack. happens all the time and i know from experience, seen it myself. they give newspapers. oh sorry gutter press like the sun to read where they get rallied up and that is what causes all these attacks in prisons. I blame the Sun the Star and other gutter press. Really people attacked in prisons should sue them for causing them bodily harm by the words they write on people and even on people who are related.

Why should they get special treatment. If he was in prison in
where ever he or his parents come from he would not be alive to claim anything. They want to blow us up & you want to give them special treatment.Me I would ship them off to there own country if born here the to the country there parents come from.My sympathy extends to the innocent muslims caught up in this terroist vendetta.

I don't see why they should be given special consideration, after all they wouldn't give a thought for their victoms. As far as I'm concerned, they are just warped, self-pitying little people with a big chip on their shoulders.
