Your computer is using the intel brand. If you want to see if you can substantialy upgrade your proccessor go to compaq web site and look up your make and model # for upgrades. If you have a socket 478 mother board you shoul d be able to upgrade to a Pentium 4 proccessor. Also check for how much ram your mother board will hold and what type of video card slot or slots your board will support .Those are the three things that determine quality of game play!

If your going to replace the processor your going to need to get the model number of the motherboard off of your machine in order to find a comprable processor. If your machine is running slow then look at RAM first. More RAM will increase the speed of applications. If your video is not great then maybe even a video card could fix that. If your wanting to replace the CPU sometimes this requires a whole new motherboard and then the price to replace it is not worth it. Just go get a new machine for the cost of the board, chip, and labor to install.

You'd have to replace the motherboard to replace your CPU, Celeron processors only work on Celeron motherboards.

what kind of processors does your motherboard supports? once you know that that you can replace it. try to read your motherboard documetation ...if you dont have it request the documentation from the place you bought your computer.
