Hello, you have probably heard many questions along these lines . I am considering buying a laptop in August. I want a laptop that is good for editing. I would want something that can handle 3D editing software without lagging, and could handle a few common games without too much hassle or lag. The main thing I would like is that it wouldn't lag, and I could edit without any trouble. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for a laptop and what you edit on it and what games you play and on which settings. I just would like to see the range of laptops and the possibilites. I live in Canada and I would not want to be paying more than $750. Thank you :)

I found this on sale at futureshop, do you think this would be a good deal?

With a budget of $750 it will be very hard to get the proper CPU speed or RAM needed for 3D editing software.

Most $750 computers will have 512 megs of ram, and with Windows Vista...even with 1 gig of ram it will be slow.

I searched and searched for a deal on laptop for over 2 months and got an HP (which broke...nice eh?) for $1050 tax in...and that had only 1 gig of ram with a Core 2 Duo 1.73 processor and it is slow because of the lack of ram.

Beef up the RAM. I would go no less than 2 GB. For editing your going to need a decent graphics card in the laptop as well.

Go with the following companies:
HP, Dell, Toshiba

Hardware:

Dual core cpu (Intel core 2 duo, AMD X2)
1GB of Ram Min.(2GB would be nice)
256Mb graphic card (512 would be nice)
80Gb min. Hard Drive
6 cell battery(9 cell would last longer)

Go with this and you should be fine

for under $750 u cannot find a laptop that has all that. wat u want is a laptop with 2gb of memory, a intel c2d, and a dedicated graphics card. anything less then that and it will lag. look @ dell.

You should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I have one, and I love it.
