The dealer has had my car on and off for a month. They think it is electrical. They have replaced the body control module and it is still dying. It just stops while driving like someone pulled a plug. It will start right back up and drive for a while longer sometimes all day sometimes it dies again in a few minutes. The first time I had it in the shop it drove that way for a week then died and wouldn't start back up and I had to have it towed. I have replaced the battery and fuel filter. They say the alternator and fuel pump are not the problem. Does anyone have any other ideas I can have the dealership check? They seem to not be able to figure it out. I don't know if this is related but the car has also had problems with the windshield wipers coming on at random and I can't turn them off. So far since they replaced the body control module this hasn't happened. So they may be two different electrical module problems. Thanks for any help and ideas for solving this problem!

I worked at a Chrysler dealership for 24 years and been retired for 3. Here's what I can tell you. When you're van dies, If it's an electrical problem like a sensor wiring it will generate a fault code and turn on the light in the dash. Then the dealership can read the code and tell what the problem is. A fuel pump going bad won't. The way I check out a suspicious pump is like this. Buy you a fuel pressure gage and attach it to the fuel rail (get a mechanic to show you how) Drive the van until it quits again. Get out and look at the gage.If the pump is OK, it should dead30 lbs or over. If it reads 10 or less, you have a bad pump. Another way I find weak pumps is to take a rubber hammer with me and if the vehicle quits, I bang the bottom of the gas tank 2 or 3 tomes with the rubber hammer. Don,t worry about hitting it to hard, its made out of a durable composite and there isn't much room under the van to get a good swing anyway. Cycle the key several times to activate the pump before trying to start the engine and then see if it will start back up. The reason the wipers went back to working right is because their controls by the body controller vie the wiper switch. The engine is not It's controls by the power train controls module under the hood. Add it could possible be at fault, But it usually, not always, gives a fault code when it fails. Hope this helps.

I would take a look at the connections on the PCM & then look at the theft deterrent system.. Try using the spare key & see if it still happens.. (possibly a bad chip) check the relay for the PCM & the ASD relay..

specific you want a thermostat. make optimistic the followers are working at working temp, if not replace them. Does the water pump artwork? examine this via establishing radiator cap, whilst cool, and searching for action in coolant. no action undesirable. make optimistic there is sufficient coolant. If all fails than the radiator desires to get replaced.
