equation: (5x+2) (2x-8)
5x +2 plus 2x-8 (remove the brackets, and since there is not minus sign, it is more of an adding sign so we put that in there)
5x+2x +2-8 (group the like terms together so that it will match up and use the interger line to help solve the equation, for instance, since the minus sign is next to the eight on the right it makes it a negative interger so negative eight minus positive 2 gives you negative 6.)
your answer is 7x-6

Further,
10x^2 - 36x - 16 'is the Answer!
you can type power by pressing shift and number 6 which has a symbol " ^ " on it..!!
PLEASE DONT ACCEPT IT AS THE BEST ANSWER IF YOU LIKED THE "POWER" THING.
However, if the answer is good.. then i'll feel good!

Do you want to FOIL this or what?
in simplified form this would be 10x^2-36x-16
To type a "power" use the ^ symbol (shift+6) before the exponent. If the exponent is an expression, put it in parenthesis.

power is upper case 6; when you say solve, assume expand.
Then, 10x^2 - 36x -16 = 2(5x^2 -18x - 8)

Not sure you can 'solve' that, since it's not an equation.
