It might stop after the first trimester (around 13 weeks) but not necessarily.

After trying ALL of the home remedies I knew of and that people had recommended and getting no results, I broke down and got a prescription for phenergan. It's a Class C morning sickness drug.

Ideally, you should try a Class A or B drug - they are the safest. Dramamine (not the non-drowsy formula) is Class B but it might not be strong enough. But try it first before trying something else.

I just found out about 2 new therapies with my current pregnancy. No one had told me about them before. I haven't tried them yet, but I will:

1. Electronic Relief Bands (for motion sickness)
2. Half a Unisom tablet plus 50 mg tablet of B6

You might try those remedies first since the bands are drug-free, and Unisom is a Class A drug - the safest out there for pregnant women.

Unfortunately it might not with my third child i was nauseated and/or vomiting the entire 9 months. With my first two I has only 3-4 months of morning sickness. As you know each pregnancy is different. I would advise talking with your doctor about the ongoing nausea and he might have some suggestions for you. I would also advise you to eat small and frequent meals. If you never allow yourself to have a completely empty stomach that will help. Eat foods that are not usual irritants. Keep some crackers by your bed and nibble a few before getting up. A before bed snack of cereal, toast or something of that nature has been known to help women who experience nausea in the morning. If yours is an all day affair I would defiantly do the frequent small meal idea and getting some solid food on your stomach before liquids helps as well. Good Luck

Usually, morning sickness ends at about 12 weeks of pregnancy or a little later. If you are so sick that you cannot eat or are losing weight you should consult your doctor. There are medications the doctor can prescribe for constant nausea, but it is best to try to wait it out. Try eating dry toast or crackers. It is important to eat small amounts often throughout the day. Do not let yourself get hungry. Try to avoid fatty foods or very spicey dishes.
