Personally, I don't care. Young will always be in my Hall Of Fame for beating sissy-boy Matt Leinart and his cheating USC team!

Lockdown - your credibility is shot because you said the same thing about Vick.

First off I agree with you on the USC cheaters. I've spent much of my time debating that overhyped team. Thats a whole other topic though.

I guess me being a Horns fan it's very hard for me to answer this question without bias, seeing that the man did give us our first national championship in 35 years. I would really like to say yes he will be a great QB. Last year he did really good with a mediocre team. The Titans were only 1 game away from making the playoffs.

The only thing that has me questioning his ability to be great is the ownership of the Titans. What the hell is this team thinking? The did nothing about the running came and if memory serves correct didn't they let most of their recievers go last year? Also with the loss of Pac-Man Jones(love him or hate him, he was the best player on that defense) the Titans have alot of issues that need to be resolved. I think this may a lil too much for even the Great Vince Young to over come byhimself.

If they don't get him some help it's gonna be very hard.

No, the reason that teams have a quarterback is because they need someone to lead the offense. Vince Young is too much like Michael Vick to ever be successful in the long run. Teams will soon see their error in drafting running QBs with poor arms. That is why they have a position called running back. The QB needs a different set of skills, not the ability to run around like an idiot.

Vince youthful, and its not even close. even regardless of the indisputable fact that McCoy post good stats suitable while he have been given the commencing interest as a freshman and it took Vince somewhat longer to get dominant, yet Vince youthful at his ultimate replaced into an all time super. He replaced into larger, greater advantageous, greater athletic and had a greater advantageous arm than McCoy, and that i might take a guy with that skillset over somebody like McCoy, it particularly is particularly in basic terms an athletic version of Graham Harrell or Chase Daniel. additionally, i'm tremendously confident in asserting that Colt McCoy shouldn't start up as a rookie like Vince did. His arm is particularly tremendously mediocre while in comparison with different NFL commencing QBs, and if each little thing worked out completely he might desire to be like a Jeff Garcia or Jake Plummer with a weaker arm, mutually as though each little thing worked out for Vince he has the talents to be the 1st valuable genuine twin danger QB interior the NFL considering the fact that Vick, yet larger and seems somewhat greater poised. it is going to take McCoy a pair years to get used to the cost of the NFL and be interior the applicable gadget for him to have any fulfillment. i'm not a extensive fan of Vince youthful, yet he's shown that he can win video games interior the NFL as a rookie, and clearly stepping in for Kerry Collins this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and thats so a lot greater effective than I anticipate McCoy to do with the main beneficiant estimate.

I'm with you for Young beating USC (Ultimate School of Cheating). What a good feeling after watching Pete Carroll and Leinart take one in the shorts.
As far as Young being great in the NFL, it is too early to tell. However, the horizon for the man looks pretty good. I was impressed with his leadership ability as a rookie. I mean he stepped in and carried the team on his back.

In my opinion I think he is going to end up just like Michael Vick. He's going to have a great first couple of years because coaches aren't going to know how to defend against him but eventually people will figure out how to beat him and his career will be over. Unless he decides to start passing more than he runs, even then his passing game is really crappy in my opinion and is going to need a lot of work. I said the same thing about him in college, he's entirely too predictable. Every time he lines up in a shotgun, he's not getting ready to pass, he's just going to wait for the corners to fall back in coverage and then he's going to run. If teams start running QB Spy, Corner Blitz at him, his entire game plan is going to fall apart and he'll be exposed. Thats just my opinion though.

He already looked great at times last year, which is highly impressive for a rookie. He got the Titans a bunch of wins, for a team no one thought would do anything last year. Obviously time will tell but I've got no reason why Young can't continue to strive towards greatness unless he gets hurt at some point.

As long as the Titans are smart enough to protect him with a good O-line, he'll be fine. He only needs to settle down in the pocket and not use his feet so much to get himself out of trouble unless it's REALLY necessary. Otherwise, teams aren't going to be scared of the Titan's offense anymore. They'll simply stack the line of scrimmage and neutralize the run. When VY better learns the progression of his reads and the WR's continue to improve, the Titans will shock some people!

Yes. Already as a rookie he has established that he has the ability to win games. He can do it now with his legs, and I think his arm will follow. I believe he will learn from the mistakes of others such as Vick. You would have to be an idiot not to... It is evident that young has a passion for the game, and it is passion that is the defining quality that makes someone good at something he does.

Tough to call, historically mobile QB's in this league just dont fair as well as pocket QB's. and before anyone jumps on me my favorite QB is Donovan McNabb so dont start. But Young does have the tools and once he learns that his feet are to be used to get out of trouble and not a cornerstone of his game then he will improve greatly.

Good, but not great.

I always find it funny that all these scouts praise these athletic QB's coming out of college as if they're going to revolutionize the position, but EVERY great QB follows the same form--pocket passer, accurate arm, quick decision making, and some mobility.

If he can develop his accuracy, he'll be a good QB, but he just doesn't have the makeup to be a great QB.
