I have the vacuum piece, the pole, and the hose... but i need to know what to hook them up to. I have a pool that has a filter on the bottom of the pool as well as the top skimmer. thanks

The hose is "plugged" into the skimmer.

You connect the hose pole and vacuum head together and put it in the water. Hold the other end of the hose to the outlet of the pump (the place where water is pumped back into the pool) to purge the air completely out of the hose. Just hold the hose there using your hand for a minute until most of the bubbles stop coming out of the vacuum head. Now connect that hose end to the skimmer. Some have a connection outlet below the water line, a round door you can open, others you plug into the skimmer after removing the basket strainer.
