Can't we all just get along?

2007-07-31 04:35:33 · answer #1 · answered by MensaMan 5 · 9 1

It's the other way around. White people get in 'trouble' for saying anything about another race, even if they are joking and even if it is good because people call it a stereotype. Black people constantly bring race into the equation and can stereotype about white people in movies, music, and in public and it is just looked at as okay or comedy.
I am of mixed race and I have seen this around me all my life growing up in diverse schools and now, working in a diverse world.
I know people's opinions will differ from mine, but this is based on what I've seen in my lifetime, on the news and any other place I've been.
There are still racist white people, who are definitely wrong. But there are racist black people too.
I'm talking about the things said by each race towards the other. When white people say something jokingly, it's such a 'travesty' and everyone is in an uproar. But when a black person says something jokingly, it's okay and funny. I think that's wrong.

You have proposed an interesting question. First off, you have to decide if this race issue, white vs. black, black vs. white and all the nasty name calling, bad acts, act of retaliation is something you want to be mixed up in or even care.

There are numerous jerks, *******, nut-jobs, neurotics and other low-life people that are just into being really mean to others. These people find it easier to "pick-on" or to"target" blacks or whites or vise versa.

One way to deal with this nonsense is to be above all that and decide that you only have time for positive things in your life. Race wars, race hatred and other venomous behavior towards others is not positive nor is it helping you in this life. Hate breeds more hate.

While you can't fix the problem regarding the race hate issue, you may choose to just ignore it. Be better than the hatred.

While these hateful comments are being slung around like water on a lawn, the best you may do is acknowledge that people of small minds do this and choose to be above this.

Good Luck,

Jim

Okay, let me ask you a question. Why is it okay for a black guy to go up to an asian at panda express and continually go "Ching chong choong chung" "I have one dolla. Me give you dolla." And other racist jokes? If someone went up to him and said "N*****" he would beat them up. The poor asian lady didnt even know the guy was doing it because she was an immagrant and didnt get it.
Look, all partys are guilty of racism at some level, not just white people.
In fact (Im sorry) but id think its the reverse, becasue common culture does not veiw anti-white things as racist anymore.
(Once again sorry) but how come rappers can say "N*****" in every song they write but theyll beat up anyone who says it? Its a double standard.
If someones racist too you, callt hem a racist pig. Do not retaliate with racism, or youll be no different then they are. Racism is a terrible, terrible thing, one of the wrongest things with this world.

It's not ok, but white folks are naive...they don't get it, no matter how much you try to explain. I've known a handful who actually get it ,but many deny what's going on, or what went on in the past concerning black ppl b/c subconsciously there is a guilt & embarrassment embedded there.

Some hate black ppl b/c they really hate themselves...afterall everyone came from black African ppl.

It's the same ol story, white ppl started racism, blacks stopped being silent & started to defend themselves, white ppl now claiming blacks are being racists & they're oppressed, but they started the whole thing in the 1st place.

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen!

Nobody should be racist. Its not alright for anybody to say anything about another person.... We are all human right? does it reallly matter if one person is dark and the other is white? People are the reason why there is so much hatred in the world!

What r u talking about?

As a white male, I know that anything I say or do in the workplace is under the closest microscope. I am at risk of a discrimination lawsuit if I take discliplinary action against anyone, except another white male.

Who says its ok for white people to be racist? You must be prejudiced for assuming that white people support the fact that other white people who are racist...

It would just be like me saying why is it ok for black people to be part of black power organizations, but not for white people to be allowed to be in the KKK etc.

If I was racist, I would not be okay with it. I have even given a thumbs up to some of your answers.

I would not expect others around me to be okay with it either.

Just to let you know, it isn't okay for whites to say stuff against you.

People who think they're better than you need to work out their own problems.
I love blacks, Indians, Muslims, Asians, EVERYBODY!

God was a dark/tan person, he wasn't a cracker, and I love him!

Next time someone says something against you, think of everything you can do better than us arrogant whites! LOL!

You guys can sing, dance, get all up in someone's face when you're mad.

YOU ROCK!!!
