In the Legends how did King Arthur meet Lancelot for the 1st time? Is there a story behind it? If so which book or books tell the tale?

I don't want DVD's. I want books that tell the story. Movies can be inaccurate (I know that for a fact) And there are different stories because it is continueously rewritten and changed by diffrent story tellers and poets overtime. I want to know all the different versions of the story and the books they come in so I can pick one I like best.
(I have my reasons)

there are several versions of this meeting....the one most common is that Arthor was out riding with his men and came to a narrow bridge, upon which Launcelot was sitting with his horse. Arthor asked him to finish crossing or go back so he and his men could cross, and Launcelot refused saying he would kill any man that tried to make him move. Arthor took him on, and defeated him, whereupon Launcelot swore fealty to Arthor as the only man to ever have defeated him in batte.

In some versions they are cousins. Since there is no way to know the truth behind the story, I wouldn't rely on the dvd. Most people believe that Arthur is a compilation of several kings or just a complete myth.

I happen to like a good story though and collect a lot of Arthurian legends. Mists of Avalon is one of my favorites.

Arthur. he's have been given greater ideal armor (particularly in case you look at how little Leonidas wore in the action picture!) additionally, Arthur became reputed to be an superb grappler and hurley participant collectively as the Leonidas of the action picture became skipped over in the chilly at an early age to be bothered by malnutrition. optimistic, he fought a huge wolf, yet it is extremely not something to the boars of Arthur's age (now extinct, i might upload.) 3 hundred became a intense-high quality action picture, yet Arthur's guaranteed to have yet another good action picture approximately him come out sometime quickly. you may not basically go via the musical Camelot and contact Arthur a pansy because of the fact of that. Sheesh human beings.
